What percent of your body weight is water?

0.0/5 rating (0 votes)
Women have less body water

You're mostly water. When you’re born your body is about 78% water by weight. By the time you’re an adult this number drops to around 50-61%. Skin, muscle and your organs are made up of about 70% water by weight. Fat is only about 10% water. Women naturally have slightly more body fat then men so less of their body weight is from water.

It’s important in hot weather or during heavy exercise to drink enough water. Loosing as little as 5% of your body’s weight as water can cause headache, fatigue, lower your muscle strength, and slow your thinking. Losing 15 to 20% of your body weight as water can kill you.
