How many eyelids does a camel’s eye have?
Camel eyes have three eyelids. They have upper and lower eyelids just like humans and a third eyelid that moves from the side of the eye and cleans it like a windshield wiper. These desert creatures have to deal with a lot of blowing sand and the extra eyelid helps to keep the sand out.
There’s some truth in the saying that a camel could find it’s way though a sand storm with its eye’s closed. They can actually see through the third eyelid and keep it closed as extra protection during sandstorms.
