| How much skin does a person shed each year? |
|
Why are we dropping bits of ourselves all over the place? When you get right down to it, we're all a bit flakey. Men have more skin so they’re flakier than women. Comments (1)

Rolling I am shocked as to how much we shed... I knew we shed but 30 to 40 thousand skin cells is quite a bit, and not just per day but minute- ewwww! I am never playing Twister on the floor again lmao! |

The average person sheds 4 kilograms (or about 8.8 pounds) a year. Humans shed 30,000-40,000 skin cells a minute! A large part of household dust is dead skin and the tiny creatures that like to eat it.
